Business insurance brokerage

A fresh perspective on your insurance policies.

HILEO reviews your entire insurance programme, policy by policy, and provides a clear analysis of what is actually covered, with no commitment.

02 / What an audit reveals

What a complete policy review uncovers.

Four issues a full insurance programme review can bring to light.

01

Overlapping cover placed with two different insurers

02

Limits that no longer reflect your size or ownership structure

03

Premiums still paid for activities you no longer carry out

04

An insurance programme that is not properly optimised

Review my programme →
03 / Your situation

Your business evolves. Your insurance should keep pace.

Each of these changes can affect your cover and should not wait until the next renewal.

Growth in revenue, operations or headcount → A requirement from a client or bank → A new investor or upcoming transaction → Assets or funds managed on behalf of third parties → Expansion into another country → A claim that was declined or poorly settled → Another situation → I want a fresh review of my insurance policies →

04 / Cover we arrange

The lines of insurance we handle.

HILEO reviews your cover, approaches the market, places your policies and supports you through to claims handling.

Cyber / beyond your own losses

When an incident originates within your business, your liability may also be at stake.

HILEO checks whether your policy actually responds to business interruption, restoration costs, fraud and third-party claims.

Explore cyber insurance

Professional indemnity

Financial consequences arising from an error, delay or inadequate advice alleged by a client.

Directors’ and officers’ liability

Your personal liability as a director, separate from the liability of the company itself.

Commercial property and business interruption

Your premises, IT equipment and stock, together with resulting business interruption when operations stop.

And any other need, whether or not identified during the review

The review covers every policy you provide: a line not listed here is not outside our scope.

05 / Real cases

Three client policies reviewed. Each revealed a significant gap.

01
Cyber · €100,000 claimed

The uncovered claim

A cyberattack stops campaigns for hundreds of advertisers. The company discovers that its own losses are covered, but its clients’ claims are not.

Read the case +

An employee’s account is compromised. The attacker takes control of the master advertising account and launches fraudulent campaigns. Accounts are blocked, campaigns stop and one advertiser claims €100,000 for lost revenue and reputational damage. The limitation only becomes apparent when the claim arrives.

02
Directors · exclusion

Insured on page one. Excluded two clauses later.

The directors are listed as insured persons, yet their personal liability arising from their corporate office is not covered.

Read the case +

The exclusion removes cover for mismanagement, creditor actions where assets are insufficient and employment disputes. The directors are named in the policy, but the situations that genuinely expose their personal assets remain uninsured.

03
International · 1/3 of revenue

A condition that defeats the cover

Cyber cover appears to be in place, yet a territorial condition makes it ineffective for almost one third of the business.

Read the case +

The company generates almost one third of its revenue in North America. The policy, however, makes cover conditional on the proportion of revenue generated in the United States. The condition was in the schedule but had never been compared with the company’s actual revenue split.

06 / Who is behind HILEO

You deal directly with me, from policy review to claim.

I spent many years placing international insurance programmes and specialist risks with global brokers.

I created HILEO to bring the same standard of advice available to large groups to businesses that expect no less. Their insurance programmes have often grown policy by policy, in response to client requests and banking requirements, without ever being reviewed as a whole.

I personally conduct every review and remain your point of contact through to claims handling.

07 / Frequently asked questions

What you may want to know before sharing a policy.

Before sharing your policies

“I already have a broker.”+

That is not a problem. The review does not replace your broker: it examines your policies, including any they did not place. You receive a written analysis of your cover.

“Will I have to cancel everything?”+

No. A review does not trigger any cancellation. It identifies which policies need attention and which are already well placed.

“My policies are confidential.”+

All our discussions are confidential, and a confidentiality agreement can be signed before any documents are shared. No document is sent to an insurer without your written approval.

About the review

What do I need to provide?+

Your current policies, schedules and full policy wordings. If you maintain an insurance summary, it will help speed up the review. We send you a precise document list after the first discussion.

What does the report contain?+

A review of each policy, gaps between your cover and your actual business, duplicate insurance, problematic exclusions and territorial clauses, and an assessment of the premium against the protection purchased. Everything is provided in writing, with clause references.

What happens after the review

Do I have to cancel the policies myself?+

No. If you ask us to run a market exercise, we handle the cancellation notices and notice periods with your current insurers.

Could I be left without cover?+

No. The new policy starts on the day the previous policy ends. The dates are agreed before any cancellation is issued.

About HILEO

Which insurers do you work with?+

For each line, HILEO approaches insurers specialising in the relevant risk, selected for the quality of their cover and their claims performance. Cyber, directors’ and officers’ liability and commercial property are not placed with the same markets. You are told which insurers will be approached before the market exercise begins.
